OUR STORY

Erasmus University Rotterdam has a large Hispanic community, with students coming all the way from Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Colombia, and much more. We aim to connect these students and share Hispanic culture, with all its nuances, strengths, and pitfalls, with those that remain unaware.

In March 2019, three Hispanic students, Barbara Burgues, José Luis Sarmiento, and Aleska Noguera had the idea to begin an association for Hispanic students. Within two months, the association had garnered over 50 members, had an established board, and three committees. The launching event for the association, a Karaoke night at Kua Taco Bar, further cemented the position of the association on campus. With the 2019-2020 school year fast approaching, the Erasmus Hispanic Cultural Organization is sure to continue growing.
